Apple trying to get even more of the "pie"
Hello all. A couple of months ago when I said I'd write for this blog I said I'd bring you the geeks side of the spectrum. I started with the new Nintendo controller. Today I bring you a new series of opinions on the ever growing Apple and Google Empires (start Imperial March here). About 1 month ago, Apple announced iTunes 5 (along with the iPod Nano and Motorola Rockr) While having it's share of bugs, iTunes 5 was a vast improvement to the original iTunes formula. But, thanks to some snooping done from other people, hidden deep in the new program is some features not yet released. What is it you might ask? A video store

Apple, already having trouble with the record labels, decided to jump in bed with the MPAA and bring movies and TV to their store. But wait, you might say, I don't have a portable video player all I'm able to do is play it on my computer. True, but not for much longer.

Surpise? Not really this should have been coming for a long time. But in maybe later then we think

So what does this mean. There will be a video iPod just not next week. That's really disappointing from where I'm sitting. Why have a video store function hidden in iTunes if you aren't gonna release a mobile video player soon? Oh well looks like we're gonna have to wait just a little longer (I'm looking at you Macworld!!)
What do you think sirs?

The only reason Apple dominates the MP3 player world is because people think the iPod is fashionable. Apple takes what other companies have done better and use it for themselves. For example the UI they stole from Creative. But alas this is where stupidity and ignorance rules the shopping world.
This is true but as anyone in the market can tell you. It's all about advertising. All the ads I see about MP3 players these days are iPod. But it's about to get a whole lot worse. Because soon Apple will once again rule the OS market. Or am I the only one who read into the whole Apple/Intel annonucement?
Nope, I'm sure Google is more of a contender for the OS market.
I don't know... Google's got some interesting ideas (Free WiFi for one) but I think a Google OS is still at least 2 years off.
It's already been in development.
I haven't seen anything on this. Source?
