Ahoy there everyone! It took me about a week to accept this invite (Ive been working a lot), but i think it will be fun to contribute to Betty's famous ye olde blog.

Those of you whom don't recognize the nickname, my identity will remain a mystery >.> (shifty eyes are indeed fun, in fact, i think it merits some more) >.> <.< v.v ^.^ But for others, I've been working at the Wabash Center in assisted living, basically i help disabled individuals doing everyday life things. My major is Special Ed now...although school seems to hate me as much as I hate it. I play a lot of video games and hang out with a lot of people from high school still, alas their numbers are dwindling as they all move off for better things.

I thought I'd write a sentence about myself.

It took me awhile to find this blog again after being given the link by Ryne because I don't blog, nor have I ever, despite being an Englishy person who, having just spent a good 45 minutes grading a paper, went to put said grade into Blackboard and found out the student dropped my class, which led me to take a break (grading has its many shoot-myself moments) and write a sentence about myself, and although you'll find that I don't often have much to say, when I do I have a dry and sarcastic perspective, perfect for things such as making fun of Alaskans and Ryne and Freshmen Composition students (no offense if you are, or ever have been, a composition student, as I myself have been) so perhaps fun stories will find their way here later, such as why Alaskans proudly display their state flag on their-um, everything in sight-for I cannot imagine seeing a resident of New Jersey walk his flag-touting dog unless it's being used to collect poo.

Been a little lax lately

I said I would update once a week and I haven't. Sorry about that. I guess I don't lead that exciting of a life. But I will endeavor to do better.


So this past week, I've been by myself at the kiosk so I got to thinking. Could staring at nothingness cause you to stop thinking. That's how bored I was.


I'll be in Disney World next week. I'll try to post pics when I get there. Also does anyone want a souvenir. Something easy please

Next spring. I'll be buying a Kia Spectra. Good times.


And it case you may not know, Mickey may be coming home in December for good. This is a maybe but it makes me happy that his time is coming to a close and I'll have my best bud back soon.

The Deconstucting of Friendships Part 2

First things first, Yes I know it's been over a week since the last post I was kinda busy last week. Sorry.


Anyway for anyone who read the last part to this, I discussed how hard it was to stay in contact with my friends from high school. I guess when you really think about this is always destined to happen to everybody. They make friends, They lose friends, They gain new ones, etc, etc. It just something you wish you could stop at times. But I guess the memories will have to do.


Well let me say that things have not gotten easier in terms of contact with my friends. Friends number one on the previous post has stopped talking to me entirely. She blocked me on Facebook and blocked my email address. Guess we weren't very good friends. In retrospective, maybe I was a little pushy in trying to talk to her but honstely how hard is it to send a text message saying I'm doing ok I'm busy at the moment. Not hard but what's past is past. Friend Number 2 remains as elusive as ever but she's REALLY busy so I don't blame her for lack of contact.

But let's move to the present now. As I'm sure many of know, Mickey is in the Navy (no surpise there) but what you may not have known is that he is currently at sea....surround by seamen....tee hee hee. As he is my best friend, this has been hell for me. He has email on the ship but either he can't check it very often or he's really busy or doesn't have time to respond. Anyway, I'm alright cuz according to my Nickdar (now with more Mutant side-effects) he is currently on his way home (not here but back Stateside) so that makes me happy.


But let's move on to a friend who is here and has made me angry (something I rarely am). As some of you know, I've been doing a Halo Trip for awhile now. We go to a cabin in Southern Indiana and play video games for 5 days. It's good fun! So after talking to everyone who is interested, we determined that this was going to be the last trip. We agreed on the cabin that I picked out for it and we set a price. $215 per person for the whole trip. Not bad if I do say so. Well everyone thought that was ok and that was supposed to be that...not so. One person (Now called Mr. Pink) wasn't sure about the trip but after we had a little meeting with everyone, he was almost on board. Then a week later he backs out. Mr. Pink says he wouldn't have enough money to go. Now lets do some math children (based on what he sent me)

$800-$1200 a month (income)
$400 (in the bank)

the minuses

$185 a month for car
$85 a month for insurance
$1500 for student loan due by the end of January

Let's say he makes $1000 a month from now till then (since it's Christmas season it'll probably be like that)

$5000 (including this month)
-$1500
-$1350 for car
-$500 for gas
+$400 from the bank
-$500 let's say for Credit Card
-$500 for food/entertainment

$1050 remaining


The trip is in March. It just boggles the mind how he says he can't afford it but wants to buy a $2000 camera for shits and giggles. I rest my case
